Diagnosis and Treatment of Oral Lesions: Practical Aspects

This course is intended for dentists, oral surgeons periodontists, endodontists, and other specialists who wish to improve their interpretation and utilization of clinical and radiographic information to make appropriate diagnoses and treatment decisions. Residents working towards board certification in their specialties will also find course content educational.

·   Panel of experienced specialists including oral pathologists, oral surgeons, oral
    radiologists and periodontists

·   Discussion of clinical and radiographic diagnostic techniques, differential diagnosis,
    and non-surgical and surgical management of odontogenic and non-odontogenic oral
    lesions

·   Up-to-date information regarding infectious, reactive, and neoplastic conditions of
    the oral cavity

·   Clinical updates regarding advanced radiographic imaging and appropriate
    medications for managing common oral infections, immune-mediated diseases, and
    inflammatory disorders

·   Informal Q&A session at the conclusion of the symposium

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be familiar with:

·   Common and sporadically encountered pathologic lesions involving the tongue

·   Advanced radiographic imaging techniques and interpretation

·   Contemporary management techniques for keratocystic odontogenic tumors and
    central giant cell lesions of the jaws

·   Pharmacologic management of odontogenic infections and oral mucosal disease

·   The immunopathogenesis, diagnosis, and management of oral ulcerative lesions
    including oral mucosal fragility disorders, aphthous ulcers and lichen planus

 

The Center for Oral Pathology at Strata Pathology Services was established in 2010. Our staff of five board-certified oral pathologists regularly participates in academic and research activities and keeps current with the latest trends in both histopathologic interpretation and treatment.
